Commitment to building community vitality throughout the greater Capital Region is one thing that unites us with all of our not-for-profit partners. It is their important services that encourage donors who care to give back through funds at the Community Foundation. We are proud to have worked with nonprofit organizations of all kinds for nearly 50 years and to have awarded more than $60 million in grants to programs throughout the counties we serve.
In addition, the Community Foundation partners with local philanthropists to create scholarships for deserving students. Several donors have established funds which provide annual scholarships, each unique in its eligibility requirements. Eligibility criteria may be based on where a student went to high school, what a student's planned major field of study will be, or a variety of other factors. While some scholarships are awarded based on the selection of particular guidance departments, others are awarded based on a competitive application process.
