A Family Business, A Community Legacy
Andrea Crisafulli’s Legacy of Civic Spirit
For Andrea Crisafulli, plumbing is the family business, but her passion is our community.
Crisafulli, president of Crisafulli Bros. Plumbing and Heating Contractors, Inc., Crisafulli Mechanical, and partner of The Lodge at Schroon Lake, grew up in the family business. She began her career in the accounting department at Crisafulli Bros. as a new college graduate and later became the owner and president.
After significant growth over more than 85 years in business, Andrea and her husband Alan Ayers, vice president of Crisafulli Bros., decided to give back to the community that has supported their business for decades. With significant demands on their time, they also needed a team of professionals to streamline the process.
“We’d been discussing creating a family foundation as a vehicle to give back, but we didn’t know where to begin. After an introductory meeting with the Community Foundation, we quickly discovered that using a donor advised fund was exactly what we were looking for. Working with a local partner lets our family focus on our giving without needing to manage logistics and reporting.
The Crisafulli Family Foundation donor advised fund was established at the end of 2024. For Andrea, one of the most meaningful aspects has been involving her children in the process, something the Community Foundation made possible by creating individual accounts for each family member. “Collaborating with the Community Foundation makes giving easy. The team has been flexible and supportive and provided a framework so we can all be involved in supporting the community.”
“Our family feels that it is a privilege to do what we can to ensure that our neighbors, and in turn our community, are strong. We are excited to partner with the Community Foundation because we share a commitment to our region’s future.”
Now a member of the Community Foundation’s Board of Directors, Andrea Crisafulli embodies the spirit of what it means to invest in a region we call home. Through the Crisafulli Family Foundation donor advised fund, she and her family are ensuring that the same community that supported their business for generations will be stronger for the generations that follow, a legacy that extends well beyond the family business.
